Crocheted Loden Sweater w Hood Baby Boy Navy Blue orders 18-24 mo

This very warm "Loden" Hooded Sweater/Jacket was Crocheted for an Infant Boy sized 18-24 mo. Crocheted using Lion's Brand "Pound of Love" Yarn in Navy Blue.
The front of the Sweater features (2) Crocheted Button Bands for closure (see Pic #2). Attached to the Button Bands are (4) Antique Handmade Pewter Buttons from Ireland. Each Button is stenciled with a tiny Ram on of the front (see pic #4).

The Crocheted Hood was attached to the Body of the Sweater with small sc stitches in Navy Blue (see pic #3).

Originating in Austria, in 1872 the founder's son, Johann Baptist Frey, developed a water-repellent cloth called the "napped loden," a cloth raised to form a nap and is impregnated. This marks the birth of the Loden Coat that will ultimately become a classic as it is still to this day.
