Antique Sewing TOILET PIN Cube, Mourning Black, Lithograph orders Woman, Germany

Wonderful antique Victorian TOILET PIN cube measuring about 1-1/2" square. Cube is designed to hold 100 black glass headed pins - it bears a label on one side and a wonderful color lithograph image of a woman in period clothing on the reverse (a la Marie Antoinette) - made in Germany.

Mounted with quite orders a few of the original glass headed pins on a gold textured paper ground, pin color was common for mourning projects, cube has wear and chipping to the points and edges - does not detract a bit.

Dating first part of the 1900s, cube would have been sold in a general store or other household emporium. Just an amazing little sewing accessory - great visual appeal and a fun addition to any collection or display! Please note -- images taken with and without flash to bring out the detail which is toning some of the images a bit yellow.
