But is actually 8 layers of steel encased in wood just for aesthetics, but actually provides significant clarity to any receiver or vintage hi-fi unit. You place this over the transformer, and it cuts down on linear distortion and stray magnetic fields. This helps all units' sound states and lowers the noise floor for a clearer sound.
