Cinderella or The Glass Slipper by Charles Perrault Published in 1875 by McLoughlin orders Bros NY Chromlithographs Antique Children's Book

An wonderful antique children's book entitled, 'Cinderella or The Glass Slipper, by Charles Perrault, published in 1875 by McLoughlin Bros. New York. This classic fairy tale is brought to life with beautiful half page chromolithograph illustrations in bright colors or red, green, purple, and gold. The text fills the bottom half of the page. This edition orders is part of the 'Cinderella Series'.

The book is covered in soft paper wraps and features a brightly colored lithograph of the front cover and a full back cover advertisement for McLoughlin's books. The pages are held in place with staples and there are blank pages in between each section. The overall condition is good for the age, with wear to the covers and spine and a crease on the back corner. The book measures; 6 1/2" X 9 3/4". This book was gifted, the inscription is written in pencil; Frank Tunison Athens much Christmas present. There are some other pencil marks on another page and some round stamp impressions.

A nice copy of an earlier McLoughlin Cinderella book, beautifully illustrated and a great addition to an antique book or Cinderella collection.
