The Pottery Oil Lamp is wheel-thrown using a white stoneware clay and is perfect for indoor or outdoor lighting. It comes with a smooth top, glass globe (as pictured separately in listing)so it can be used even in a breezy, outdoor environment and is approximately orders 8 1/2 inches tall. The fiberglass wick allows the oil to burn but does not deteriorate, whereas a cotton wick would smoulder and smoke. We recommend filling it just half full of good quality smokeless and odorless oil. The wick should be nearly flush with the top of the wick holder when lighting. The oil lamp should burn for many hours, until it runs out of oil.
