30's orders TWA at Sky Harbor Phoenix Airport Terminal and Chapel Photo, Aviation History

A most unique black and white photo orders from the 30's shows a TWA parked at the original Terminal 1 at sky Harbor in Phoenix.

Not only the original small terminal but a little chapel. The chapel was there for people who wanted to fly in and get married, as there was no 3 day wait for a blood test required in Arizona.

As I once lived in PHX , the name Sky Harbor always was a comfort to me when I traveled. In the 70's there were no jetways!

I understand that though the chapel is long gone, the bell is somewhere around the property.
