This vintage summerweight see through semi sheer silk Japanese Kimono has a lovely sophisticated and elegant design of bamboo woven in cream / white threads on a high contrast black sheer silk. It's in very good vintage condition but with one light stain on the inside left collar facing. I believe it is a kinsha silk and probably older - perhaps from the 1950's-60's - which means it is more delicate than newer kimono for wearing. Great for brides/ bridal shower.

Sheer silks are favored as outer kimono in the hot humid summers of Japan and are worn publicly with an under-kimono. Sha and kinsha silks are slightly stiff and not soft and flowey like Ro silk. Kimono are a great style that has survived for hundreds of years; this can be worn as a boudoir kimono and would make an elegant bathrobe or dressing gown.

This is HAND SEWN - I recommend dry cleaning unless you know the preferred Japanese kimono silk washing methods orders.

These garments do not come with a belt.
